Hello, and welcome to our very first blog here at Wild Acorns Media! Run by Jesse and Louisa Albanese, we are a video production and wildlife photography company in Denver, Colorado. We believe that every story deserves to be told, but there’s never just one way to tell it. Some tell it through speech or through writing, while others choose to tell it through visual arts like videography and photography. If you have a story to tell, we’re ready to help you tell it in a compelling way that will capture the attention of audiences everywhere. In this blog, we’re going to talk a little bit about what our concept of “adventure media” means as well as introduce you to some of the topics we’ll be covering in future blogs.
Capture your adventure
No matter how old you are or where you’re from, you have at least one interesting story to tell. Maybe you’re going on a week-long backpacking trip in the Alps, or maybe you’re a gym rat who wants to tell your story of going from a dreamer to an achiever. With our daily exposure to videography through the news and advertising, it can be easy to get bogged down with the thought that videos and photos have little more purpose than to inform. However, when you look at all that’s possible, you begin to realize that visual media can be used to inspire, instill emotion in its viewers, and cause viewers to take action. Sure, you can tell your story through writing or speech, but cinematography combines sight and sound to create something much more impactful to the viewer.
Growing up in Colorado, it’s our instinct to gravitate towards stories that involve outdoor adventures such as skiing, hiking, climbing, and more. However, that’s not all we do. Want to increase your company’s brand awareness? Want to reveal a product to consumers in an interesting and compelling way? These are all things we’ve mastered here at Wild Acorns Media by combining real-time action filming with expert post-production techniques. Whatever your goal is, let us help you accomplish it through the power of video and photography!
Okay, now that you know a bit about our company and what we do, let’s talk a bit about what our blog will cover. Believe it or not, videography and photography haven’t been around that long. The first picture was taken in 1826 by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce, but it wasn’t until much later that photography became a major part of people’s lives, making it into media such as newspapers, advertising, and more. And it wasn’t until the early 1900s when color photography was invented, beginning a series of technological advancements that would lead to the possibility of creating the beautiful photography that we have today.
In our modern times, photography is used in much more than newspapers and advertisements, it’s used to design websites, and to create other media that have changed the landscape of visual storytelling forever. Videography has followed a similar path, and although it’s seen enormous advancements throughout its short time in existence, it’s proven to be an extremely impactful form of media that won’t go away anytime soon (or ever). As you can imagine, there is a lot to talk about in the realm of visual storytelling and in our blog, we want to hit on as much of that as we can.
As you can tell, we already have plenty to talk about. If you’d like to learn more about the specifics of what we’re going to cover in our blogs, read part two. If you’re convinced that you need a professional videographer or photographer to tell your story, please contact Wild Acorns Media today!
